PTO Air Valve with Reset

The Betts’ PTO Air Valve is a robust two position push/pull 3/2 directional control valve with an air reset feature.  Knob in the pulled-out position disengages the PTO and knob in the pushed-in position engages the PTO.  Air signal supplied to the “R” port resets the knob to the pulled-out position.

The PTO Air Valve is commonly used in conjunction with the parking brake air system and the Master Control Valve (see AD22MC).  If the parking brake is dis-engaged or the Master Control Valve is shut down, the system can be plumbed to reset the PTO Air Valve to the disengaged position.

The valve block is lightweight anodized aluminum for corrosion resistance and performance.  The valve includes a detent retention feature for positive “click-in” feel during operation.  Ports 1-3 are ¼” NPT for optimal air flow and reset port is ⅛” NPT.  The valve can be mounted via the through holes in the valve body or through a Ø.81” hole in a panel and secured with the included ¾“ hex nut.

Simplified plumbing schematics are provided below for the two most common methods of operation.  A detailed plumbing schematic is available upon request.  See section 31 page 2D for parts list.  See maintenance manual MM-AD006 for additional details.
