3.5″ SENTINEL™ Aluminum Pneumatic Vapor Valve for 407/412 Tanks – Threaded Mount

The SENTINEL™ is designed as a pneumatically actuated positive opening vapor recovery valve for applications, such as crude oil, that require the valve to open against greater internal tank pressure.  The vapor valve features our patented TwinForce™ dual-cylinder design that allows it to begin to open immediately against up to 50 psig of internal tank pressure.

Sequential interlock design allows the vapor valve to be plumbed in series with the emergency valve to ensure the vapor valve is fully open before the emergency valve receives an air signal.  If desired, a wink or gauge can be plumbed to the outlet port to provide a valve-open signal.  If an interlock feature is not required, the outlet port can be plugged, and the valve will function as a basic non-interlock vapor valve.

The vapor valve has exceptional flow with an inward opening disk and a tapered seat to ensure a tight seal and prevent loss of lading due to a surge or roll-over accident.  An aluminum body with FEP Teflon® main seal, fluorosilicone air cylinder seals, and stainless trim offers compatibility with a wide variety of products.**  For applications that required additional corrosion resistance, specify the “AY” version that includes a black e-coated body and anodized O-ring holder.

Threaded mounting configuration installs in a 3.84” (98 mm) hole as provided by standard 16” offset manhole and is secured with a threaded mounting ring and set screws.  Air connections are 1/8” NPT.  The vapor valve meets shell strength test of 73 psig (5.0 bar).  Maximum operating pressure is defined as maximum tank pressure that valve can open against with given air-line pressure.  U.S. Patent # 10,876,650   Canadian Patent # 3007401.

The maximum operating pressure* of vapor valve is:
45 psi [3.1 bar] with 100 psi [6.9 bar] line pressure supplied.
50 psi [3.4 bar] with 110 psi [7.6 bar] line pressure supplied.
