1″ Tapered Seat Aluminum Emergency Valve – Pneumatic – 90 Degree Elbow
The Betts 1” Water Drain Valve meets HM183 requirements for an internal self-closing stop valve and is ideal for use as a water drain/sampling valve. The valve is pneumatically operated and offers a 1” NPT male threaded inlet and 1” or ¾” NPT female threaded outlet.
The shear section is located above air inlet connection point which assists in providing a cleaner separation in the event of an under-carriage impact. The valve meets the shear section requirements of 49CFR §178.345-8 and is tested per TTMA RP84. A fusible plug is installed to dump air pressure if temperatures exceed 212°F ŧŧ.
The valve body, O-ring holder stem, and pneumatic cylinder are constructed of lightweight anodized aluminum to maximize durability and corrosion resistance. The valve push stem is 316 stainless steel and is supported by an oil impregnated bushing with FKM-BLT (Viton® B low temp) standard seals for compatibility with a wide range of products and temperatures. The simplistic design allows for easy tear-down and maintenance.

Minimum Bursting Pressure: 140 psi [9.7 bar]
Actuation Range:
Opens against 25 psi tank pressure with 60 psi line pressure.
Requires 80 psi line pressure to fully open.
